The Sugal Group is currently one of the world’s largest producers of tomato pulp and fruit puree. The company was established over 50 years ago and currently operates five production facilities, three on the Iberian Peninsula and two in Chile, allowing for production in two crops over a 6-month period, reaching a production capacity of around 1,500,000 tons of fresh tomatoes. As Sugal’s operations are highly dependent on natural resources, mainly agricultural products, the company recognizes the importance and effects of climate change on its business. For this reason, the company has been assessing its GHG emissions since 2010. The aim of this project is to help Sugal evaluate and integrate sustainability goals and strategies across the entire organization, taking another step towards adapting its operations to the challenge of climate change.
